Expo: Esther Molenaar

Vanaf afgelopen zondag is in de CC van Woustraat 153 de foto expositie van Esther Molenaar te zien. Zij heeft foto’s gemaakt van de dansers van Dansgroep Amsterdam.

Esthers liefde voor dans is terug te zien in haar foto’s. Haar werk kenmerkt zich door een bewust gebruik van lijnen en vlakken. Bij deze serie voor de Coffee Company, kiest zij voor zwart-wit foto’s met hoog contrast. Op de foto’s staan de dansers centraal met oog voor de ruimte en de beweging. Vanuit haar gevoel legt zij de beelden vast.

Dansgroep Amsterdam is het Amsterdamse stadsgezelschap voor moderne dans. Gevestigde choregrafen en talentvolle makers krijgen de ruimte voor groei en experiment. In de productie ‘Instead of Something’ nemen vier dansers van Dansgroep Amsterdam de regie in eigen hand. Vier dansers, vier choreografieën:

Kelly Hirina: The Uselessness of common Sense. When living in memory, the mind escapes from its experience. A research of contemplation versus intuition.

Francesca Monti: Insight-out. Francesca Monti is aware of how the constant bombardment of opinions effects her. In this solo, which she created for herself, she expresses this experience and shows where she finds her peace & quiet. A place that is immune to external influences and is truly her Self.

Corneliu Ganea: Language of the heart. Warning: “Not to be taken likely. Treat with care. Hazardous use leads to its failure. Keep it dry and happy. Never expose it to fresh air, but do expose its true potential. Best use before time is up.”

Natasha Rodina: Pass Time. Natasha Rodina presents a choreography for six dancers inspired by her experiences with intercultural relationships. It’s her personal journey through the past years, related to what is happening in the world.
